Dated animation?
I recall when the DVD was released a few years ago and my wife gave it to me as a Christmas present. She is not a Deadhead mind you - more of a pop/punk/metal type of musical taste (read Sex Pistols, The Clash, Depeche Mode, Elvis Costello, Metallica, etc). We didn't meet until 2000, so she never got to see the REAL band (did take her to a Ratdog show at Ziggy's once, but that's another story). She has learned to tolerate the obsession and even genuinely likes the music now (at least I think she does).
Anyway, I did not give her much of a description of what all was in the movie and we sit down to watch... Just when they make the transition from the animation sequence to US Blues she turns to me and says "Thank God - I was beginning to think the whole thing was going to be like that"
I did not go last night - just can't sit through a 2 1/2 movie now with all the hip issues and I just didn't feel like paying $15 to see something that I can watch at home anytime.
